Hi, as the world is getting hotter and energy is being used to much… lets start to conserve energy by following these few tips from us :D

Energy is such a precious commodity. And although investment in and availability of renewable fuel sources is increasing, the UK remains largely reliant on the non-renewables: gas, coal, nuclear fuel and oil – in that order.

We use energy relentlessly to power our homes, cars and offices. Indeed, we barely give it a thought… until there’s a power cut. During this strange, candle-filled darkness we are reminded of our utter dependence on energy in all its forms.

While renewable energy sources are growing, it is imperative that we save as much of the non-renewables as we can. Particularly now they are so expensive. Conducting a home energy check can save us up to £250 a year according to the Energy Saving Trust.

Here’s what you can do to save vital energy and those pennies:

Heating

Update your boiler: boilers account for around 60% of our energy bills, so replacing the old boiler with an A-rated high-efficiency condensing one is a sensible option. This is because old style boilers were prone to losing a large amount of heat in the form of gases up the flue (pipes/chimney) while condensing boilers re-use these gases more effectively.

Increasing use of energy has led to depletion of energy resources. Conscious efforts have been put in to reduce irresponsible consumption of energy. As a result of which a lot of energy saving services are cropping up. They help in saving home energy, business energy, U.K energy etc. Individual efforts are equally important to save energy; hence one can use a comparison site to find the right supplier for oneself. At least 9 out of every 10 people use a comparison site in order to save energy.

In order to save home energy, one has to mainly save on gas and electricity bills. Thereby, apart from saving energy and helping the environment, one shall also end up saving money. It is important to switch off gas burners and electrical appliances including tube lights, air conditioner etc. A large amount of energy is wasted when electricity is not switched off in unoccupied rooms. However, if you do not have proper suppliers, those precautions may or may not work.

A comparison site shall provide entire information ranging from the most expensive supplier to the cheapest one. You only need to look at it to figure out how much you can save. The same method differs whilst saving business energy. A business owner could send in his or her details and then a representative shall discuss energy saving methods with him. Energy saving can be done by both, small businesses and large commercial organizations.

Update 1: Some of the LED light bulbs have stopped working and don’t turn on anymore (4 out of the 10 I bought so far). Stay away from these particular light bulbs. Original: Bought the LED light bulb on eBay from China for $2.24 + free shipping. For anyone thinking about getting these particular style LED light bulbs, DON’T! They are too dim and don’t put out enough light compared to regular light bulbs. I’d recommend getting a corn-style LED light bulb with more wattage, LED’s and 360-degree light output. You’ll be glad you did and not wasted your money on such a dim light, unless you just need “a light” that doesn’t need to be that bright, like a night light, etc. Next video I’ll review and compare a corn-style 108-LED 7 watt (6000K) cool white light bulb that is being shipped to me at the moment. How would you know if you are not losing energy from your house? One method is to examine your power consumption with your neighbor. Even so, there is a better method of doing it and we call this method the home energy yardstick. Is there a benefit in measuring your energy consumption? Yes, actually the home energy checker can calculate your household’s energy consumption. Today’s energy saving house tip is going to talk about the basic process of home energy assessment.

To get started, you will need to gather some data about your current home energy consumption. The number one requirement is from your electric company’s annual kilowatt billing report  or your electric bills for the past 12 months. You will also have to decide which type of power source you utilized at home. Other types of energy source other than the supply from your power-off grid are: coal, natural gas, wood, kerosene and fuel oil.

You will need to estimate the total area of the house including the basement. And last but not the least, the total number of occupants in your household. You will be surprise within just a short time, you will be able to see the results and its comparison with others data. With the help of a household energy checker, you will not only find out  the precise figure of energy your home is utilizing, but you are able to know how you consume power, whether you are overusing it or not. As a result, it prompts you to make the necessary actions so you could improve your household’s energy consumption into a more energy-efficient one.

It’s not your grandma’s old-fashioned awning anymore. With many different fabrics, styles and sizes to choose from, awnings are making a comeback as a home upgrade that can enhance curb appeal, expand outdoor living space and protect against UV rays. Backed by a recently conducted energy study, awnings also are a proven way to save home cooling energy. To illustrate the benefits of awnings, video footage is now available from the Professional Awning Manufacturers Association (PAMA).
